We are happy to share - the world's first repair receipt 🎉

Last week our volunteers finished a project, which we have wanted to create for a long time.
We register a lot of data for each repair, but our guests rarely get any insight into these data, unless they take a visit to Open Repair Alliance’s website or calculate their CO2 savings on RCDK.

Therefore, we wanted to make something very tangible, which answered the two questions: “Why do I need to register my repair” and “Does my repair even matter in the big picture?”
Let me present our repair receipt :page_facing_up:

I think the picture is self explanatory, but it you would like a deeper dive into the process, then we have also made a 3 minute video here: https://icedrive.net/s/PvjFZQYhCvY4CjyykGWVQN7hjwtC

The CO2 data is calculated based on the weight and product category of the repaired item. We then use the “Fixometer reference data - 2021” to calculate the CO2 emissions for each product. The numbers from km driven etc. are data from a report made for Repair Café Denmark.

We use the online spreadsheet software Airtable to register our repairs in, but the software could be integrated in different ways if needed.

We are very proud about the project. Besides answering the two questions very clearly now, the amount of people who forget to check-out is now almost zero. If we will get more donations this way, only time will tell.

Great idea!
Thanks for sharing.

One suggestion: maybe add a QR code for your website, so that if they show the receipt to someone else, that person can get their stuff repaired: free advertising! :grinning:

Edit: oh, yes, and another QR code for donations :money_mouth_face:

This is a brilliant idea Andreas! Thanks for sharing!
Great to see a novel use for our reference data too

Love the idea of adding QR codes for useful links too Dave!

Genius idea and lovely execution! Is the paper you use recyclable?
