I can’t believe the tech media is letting Samsung getting away with boasting about “three years” of Android updates and patches. Is this really how far we’ve fallen, that three years is good?
Reminds of our interview with Ross Anderson where he said
“What you got to do is you got to keep shipping patches for Android, not for 3 years, not for 5 years but for 10 years.”
Obviously Google plays a role here, but Samsung is hugely influential. They have a role here too. Anyways, we need really push back against these tech giants who make grandiose environmental pledges and then go and do stuff like this.
