Yesterday, @ugo co-hosted a webinar with industry ally ABI Electronics and a panel of experts from the worlds of electronic and biomedical engineering, medicine, repair and digital rights to discuss the question: Are we prepared to repair COVID-19 medical equipment?
While the conversation revealed some reassuring insights about the availability of equipment in the UK, it also raised a number of concerns about what additional support may be required and how current processes around maintenance and repair might need to change.
the panel raised real questions about whether the current ways of working and systems and procedures to maintain equipment will be appropriate during this crisis. Professionals on the ground are concerned with issues of regulation, legal hurdles like intellectual property and perceived liability.
