You might have been following the news on the rising costs of computer components, particularly RAM, as AI companies snap up the resources for data centres. The resulting cost increases have filtered through to consumer electronics, and the projection is that these price hikes will last for quite a few years.
I’ve previously seen a few bad suggestions to ‘buy new now’ to avoid the price increases. Obviously we think differently, and that we should keep what we already have for as long as we can… this Engadget article captures this sentiment too:
