This sounds like a great project.

One of our volunteers is interested in developing after school repair clubs. Would you be able to share any resources such as activity plans, schedules, worksheets etc?

Thanks for your interest in the Tinker Kinder project.

Yes, we will be happy to share our experience with you and the team.

Tk (Tinker kinder) is a virtual program on home maintenance, troubleshooting & repair awareness.

We have started during Corona times.

We have chosen five areas in the home - Plumbing, Home Electricals, Mend

ing of clothes, Laptop & Bicycle. This is keeping in mind the Indian household.

The approach is online, but includes practical exercises for e.g., for the bicycle module, one has to sit in the session with the bicycle and the tools. We inform them about the material in the orientation email. The focus of our session is maintenance through cleaning for mechanical items.

For the mending session, we focus on basic stitching session first.

Every session, the children have to be accompanied by a relative.

Based on our experience, we can work with you to develop lesson plans as per your requirements.

Of course, some adaptation will be required - our electric sockets look different for example but work the same!

I will suggest to our volunteer that he email you.
