Hi,
#RepairDay is all about waking up, taking action, and repairing! This year, the hashtag#Fixfest2025 spirit brought a fresh wave of energy, partnerships, and camaraderie β and we kicked off early with an exciting event in collaboration.
At hashtag#RepairMaadiBengaluru hashtag#ProjectDefy, we rolled up our sleeves to troubleshoot and fix everything from LED Lights, spike busters, iron-box, kettles, junction boxes, toasters, and more. There were three types of participants who attended our electrical repair corner:
Curious Learners β eager to understand how things work and thrilled with hands-on experience.
Practical Fixers β brought their own broken items and left confident with guidance.
Wanderers β exploring the workshops, enjoying the vibe, and bonding with the community.
hashtag#Jugaad hashtag#Gambiarra Hereβs a little highlight of the sessions: one kettle was diagnosed with a defective heating element. Coincidentally, another kettle from waste drive was already on the table. With a bit of ingenuity, we transplanted the heating element β and the kettle that was brought in was up and running again! LED lights, spike busters were fixed. Diagnosis was completed for a Bajaj fan which had a battery issue. An iron-box which had a water-leakage.
Apart from fixing and diagnosing items, we also experienced a range of emotions. Our team, as always, held the fort. With some suggestions, we focused more on hashtag#repairing than promoting the event on social media. But hashtag#repair is complex β itβs not just about fixing things. Discussions on repair and reuse naturally involve multiple perspectives, learning experiences, intense arguments and sometimes even disagreements. We agree to disagree. All of this adds richness to the conversation and helps us reflect on how we approach repair as a community.
