Let's Power Up CC4D MakerSpace and Repair Café Center in Yei, South Sudan

Dear Repair, Care, and Maintenance Practitioners,

Imagine a world where everyone has the skills and resources to repair their own devices!

We are excited to partner with Repair Café Malmö in our mission to raise $8,000 to equip the Community Creativity for Development (CC4D) MakerSpace and repair café in Yei, South Sudan, with sustainable electricity, essential repair tools, and furniture. Without these critical resources, the MakerSpace and Repair Café risks not operating.

During a recent training session, our generator broke down, leaving us in darkness. Yet, our participants persevered, using candles to heat and replace mobile phone charging ports and mobile phone torches to provide lighting to assemble a laptop. Unfortunately, the lack of lighting led to the loss of essential components, including three laptop nuts.

We urgently need your support to reach our goal of $8,000.

Your contribution will empower us to provide uninterrupted repair services and training, foster culture of repair, community resilience, and develop vital skills for sustainable futures.

Thank you for being part of this journey toward a brighter, more sustainable future!

Help us empower 300 individuals by training 150 in repair and digital skills and fixing 150 devices. We’ve raised $500, but we need $7,500 more to reach our goal. We can’t do it without electricity. Your donation will help us acquire a sustainable solar energy and improve our repair cafe: purchase 4 solar panels, 2 batteries, more repair tools, and chairs.

Thanks so much for sharing this Mathew! It’s brilliant to see how you’re building on years of work to invest in the resilience and long-term viability of this much needed project

I’ve donated and would encourage those who can to do so as well.

I hope you reach your goal!
