So we attended and learned a lot about how to appear in an event with 10,000+ people a day! (Never go with fewer than four people, to start!)
We used 2 Nexus 4 phones - which were assembled and disassembled over 160 times by the same number of children. (Only one was destroyed beyond all use.) That went really well and now we have a “script” for discussing the raw materials inside of the phone as we go.

We probably talked to over 500 people over our Wall-E robot and heap of e-waste - both are highly effective. As is signalling how much gold is in electronics.
The educational materials we used are under going their final edit/revision and will be ready to share soon.
