In the UK? Please fill this survey on Right to Repair - by 9 July

The UK Parliament’s Environmental Audit Committee is currently doing an inquiry on electronic waste.

As part of the inquiry, the EAC has now launched a very short survey directed specifically at volunteers at community repair events in the UK.

It’s a perfect opportunity for repair volunteers to voice the need for better repair legislation and for removing all barriers to repair. It’s just 4 questions, so it should take no time at all. Please take the survey by 9 July at 5pm and share it with other repair volunteers in your groups.

MPs on the Environmental Audit Committee are looking to hear about the experience of people volunteering in repair cafes in the UK, and any barriers you face trying to repair electrical and electronic equipment.
The answers and examples to this survey will be used by the Committee to inform future questioning to the Government

In related news, last week Restart contributed to an oral evidence session to the same inquiry, where we discussed the importance of Right to repair legislation in a panel featuring industry representatives. You can read the summary and watch the whole session on Restart’s website:

There are only a few days left to complete this survey - and share it with others involved in repairing devices at repair events

A quick follow up on this…

The EAC summarised some of the results of this survey in a Twitter thread back in July (we’ve only just seen it!)
