How to create a new Network

We have created a new charity, Solent Repair and Reuse, to operate a number of Repair Cafes:

  • Repair Cafe Gosport
  • Repair Cafe Titchfield
  • Repair Cafe Portchester

We want to keep the individual feel of these projects so we would like to keep their existing profiles on the Fixometer.

How do we create a new Network in Fixometer to consolidate their data?

Hi @Keith_Brady ,

That’s great to hear about Solent Repair and Reuse!

Creating a network on Restarters is something we do as a paid-for service, thus far mostly for networks in the size range of 10s to 100s of groups. There’s a suite of associated features that come with that.

Happy to talk about that if it is of interest, but it sounds like here you are specifically interested in the consolidation of data, and wouldn’t need many of the other features, so I’m also happy to think about alternative ways that you could do that.

As a side note: I note that all of the groups you mention are in the existing Hampshire network - I guess you’ve communicated with them about your Solent network of groups already?

Hi - i’m new to the group. We’re based in Barnsley and also looking at setting up a network so would be interested in the outcome. Thanks

Solent Repair and Reuse will continue to be a member of the Hampshire Repair Café network.and I have been in touch with them about the change.

I know how I can consolidate the data in other ways, potentially using the API access to the restarter.net which I have been gradually wrapping more and more with a Python access library.

I would be interested in knowing more about the other features of a Network and the costs involved. If you would prefer, please email me at keith.brady@solentrepairandreuse.org.uk.
