Electronics Goes Green 2024

The Electronics Goes Green conference is taking place in Berlin, June 18th - 20th.

There’s a program here.

There’s some interesting sessions, including this one on repair policies:

  • Building the Future of Repair: A Right to Repair State of the Union (Kyle Wiens, Beatriz Pozo Arcos)-
  • Fiscal policies to support the repair of electronics – A case study of the Thuringian repair voucher programme (Magdolna Molnár)
  • Assessing the environmental benefits of repair and reuse of electrical and electronic equipment: key learnings for ecodesign based on the French repair and reuse scheme (Guillaume Audrain, Laurène Cuénot, Axel Roy)
  • Review and Analysis of ICT Regulations under the Ecodesign Directive: Product Regulations Shifting from Energy Efficiency to Circular Economy (Robin Barkhausen, Antoine Durand)

(It’s very expensive to attend though - even online attendance. Hopefully some of the outputs will be freely available somewhere…).

Very interesting but why so expensive to attend , or even listen in?

I can only surmise that it’s primarily an academic conference, which always have overpriced attendance costs - they seem to presume that you will have a university paying for your attendance.
