Neil Electrics is a stalwart of Haringey, having been founded by Roma & Kish Gulrajani some 32 years ago in what was originally known as Wood Green Shopping City.
Their journey to make Neil Electrics the thriving repair shop that it is today, was partly based on the needs of customers. Roma and Kish developed a deep relationship with their local community who were clamouring for a friendly and reliable place to get their electricals repaired. And as time went on – with the help of repair technician, Nathu – they expanded the list of items that they were able to repair. From vacuums, to old element style kettles, fans, lamps, ghd styling products, audio, video, and more.
“Being in a shop like ours is fun and each day we get to solve a quiz which is a problem for a customer…after they have searched high and low for a spare part, a certain type of light bulb or a curtain hook, or a battery or even a simple soldering repair job…when they come to us we are very pleased to say 99.9% of the time we are able to help them with the right item and advice, saving them time and money.“
The team at Neil Electrics are still as passionate today as they were back then about being able to offer their customers a fair price and are proud that they have been able to save so many items from ending up in landfill. For over three decades, they have been a port of call for customers who are not able to get their item fixed anywhere else. One of their specialties is their work fixing commercial and antique lamps from all over the world, repairing them and reworking them so that they meet UK standards and are able to have a new lease on life. And it’s a joy every day, Roma says, “[adding] to our experience and [enhancing] our ability to repair items that we didn’t anticipate”
