Thanks for Sharing Stuart!

Love this enthusiasm!

Who are the UK “influencers” who we’d like to see endorse Right to Repair? I’m thinking Big Clive, Colin Furze to start. Perhaps we need to think Europe-level, for example Laura Kampf.

Tom Stanton would be good, perhaps Tom Scott?

@Stuart_Ward I tried pitching to Tom Scott, sadly I just got a very friendly “thanks but that is not quite my kind of content”-message as a reply.

@Stuart_Ward and everyone else here: Perhaps your time to rope in Tom Scott has come after all. Sounds like he’s looking for cool people to speak to and places to visit. So if we all invite him to Restart Parties, maybe he’ll actually visit?

This guy does a lot of fun projects (more upcycling than repair per se though).

May I suggest that the question should be " Can we repair" !.
By that I mean that most NEW items are going to have electronics or very sophisticated technology.
This will as has been seen disable repairs !.
Therefore the push must be to :-

  1. Simplify the unit to become repairable.
  2. Make available low cost refurbished units to repair the items.
  3. Make available full diagnostic/circuit diagrams.
  4. All units/items become part of circular reuse system.

We as interested parties to this MUST be persistant & consistant in letting our politicians know that this will help OUR fight to help conserve planetary resources.
We can put this in many different ways BUT we do not have much time. We are killing our planet !!!.
