Ada Lovelace Day: free online events (12 Oct)

Ada Lovelace Day is back and this year falls on 12 October (this Tuesday) :tada:

As every year, the organisers hoping to celebrate the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and maths. But this year they’ve set up three interesting webinars:

  • Engineering – Solving Problems for Real People
  • Fusing Tech & Art in Games
  • The Science of Hypersleep

Here’s another suggestion for the occasion - amazing film called “Sisters with Transistors”. As I watched, I couldn’t help but think about how Ada Lovelace predicted that machines could be made to make music. (Surprised it wasn’t mentioned!)

In the UK, you can stream online through your local indie cinema, or support cultural partners like Cafe Oto, Wire Magazine, or Rough Trade.
