Describing Trading Standards, as “hard-nosed bureaucrats” is ignorant & unjustified stereotyping†.
They do a thankless and ridiculously under-resourced job under sometimes dangerous and often disgusting conditions.
Those I’ve met have all been very pleasant, especially considering the violence and abuse they have to confront daily while protecting us from dangerous products & rogue traders.
