worked in the computer industry between 1967 and 1999 - mainly on communications protocols including tcp/ip and other internet protocols - as a software engineer. favorite operating system are unix/linux family.

still do software dev but mainly for activist groups i’m involved with.

after computer industry i became a teacher - maths in f.e. settings - and a teacher trainer.

always try to repair my kit when it’s not working, have done a wee bit with hardware, but predominantly desk tops…

i’m also a bit of a maker - i spin, weave, knit, crochet, work with fabrics, cook, diy etc.

generally i try to repair (and reuse) when i can, e.g. repairing a hand woven blanket for a friend, re-using a garden table given to me, re-purposed an internal hard drive to external, and i’m sure much more…
