I used to work at The Restart Project and was inspired at the ingeniousness and determination of people to have a go at fixing anything and everything.

I’m not particularly techy and haven’t attempted any electrical repairs, beyond replacing a fuse, but I do spend a lot of my time sewing up my children’s soft toys where stuffing starts leaking out everywhere.

I’m always shocked at the amount of stuff that people will throw away with no thought about where it will end up (usually landfill) and am always looking for ways to reduce what we throw away.
