Recent experience includes volunteering for a non-profit disassembling electronics for recycling.

I have volunteered at number of what we call “Fix-It Clinic” events, sponsored by local government environment and sustainability departments.

With recycling connections, and a few nominal ebay/alibaba orders, I have been able offer others a variety of no-cost, albeit sometimes used, repair parts at our clinics. A handful of rescued power cords and selected less common tools to share complete my kit.

Having items repaired on the first visit makes everyone happy. I am also convinced that some items would never be repaired if not today.

Like most here, I have always taken things apart. That led me to see how things work, why they break, and sometimes how to fix them.
