I am from Barcelona but have been living in the US for a couple of years. Seeing how much stuff people throw away, how little they think about themselves as fixers and how everything is monetized, I thought starting a Repair Clinic would be a good thing.
Also, Evanston just approved a Climate Action and Resilience Plan that has a “Zero Waste” section that envisions having waste prevention initiatives.
Finally, I think that sustainability and social justice must go hand in hand. RC are one way to unite these two aspects in a fun, inclusive and attractive way.
